The 15th Annual Chinese American Film Festival (CAFF) and Chinese American Television Festival (CATF) presented The Golden Angel Awards at The Saban Theatre on November 5, 2019.

The Most Welcomed American Films by Chinese Audiences awards were presented to “Avengers: End Game,” “Aquaman,” “Venom,” “Bumblebee,” and “Captain Marvel.”

Madeline Carroll won the Outstanding Actress award, while Wu Gang (“A City Called Macau”) and Tang Guoqiang (“Mao Zedong, 1949”) shared the Best Actor award.  Gui Yalei was named Best Actress CAFF for her role in “Number One,” while Jiang Shuying was crowned Best Actress of CATF for her television work in“The King’s Avatar.” Wu Gang, who starred in the TV series “The Thunders,” won Best Actor CATF, while Lin Nan received Best Director CAFF and CATF accolades for his work in “The Golden Eye.”

The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to legendary artist of the Beijing Opera Shang Changrong. “The Captain” brought home the Best Feature Film award, and its producer Yu Dong, president of Bona Film Group Ltd., was named Best Producer. 

VIPs in attendance included E! founder Larry Namer, Threshold Entertainment’s Larry Kasanoff and Grammy-winner Omar Akram.
