I watched a fantastic documentary on Amazon Prime, This is the Tom Green Documentary. Directed by Tom Green himself. It’s about his journey to fame and quite revealing. The documentary doesn’t have many “wow” moments, but it tells the story about his life and experience. He rekindles ties with old friends, and you begin to see what lies behind the outrageous antics.
What really left me stunned was Tom Green’s work ethic and how hard he worked at his “craft”. He really worked hard for success. The story doesn’t shy away from the more difficult aspects of his life, such as the Drew Barrymore relationship.
Another jaw-dropper is that Tom Green walked away from his show, it wasn’t canceled as I had thought. Let’s face it, stuff like Jackass owes its existence to Tom Green.
If you’re a Tom Green fan or if you were a fan of MTV back in the day, it’s a must watch. If not, well, it is a great inspiring story about dedication and pursuing your dreams no matter how crazy they may seem.
